CRB Naming & Model Numbers
Across the Country, CRB machines are often sold under different names. Many sites private-label the same machines, and the model numbers TM3 / TM4 / TM5 are sometimes used for both manufacturing sources. This guide helps you compare listings fairly.
In the USA, CRBs come from two manufacturers
For the CRB machines in the U.S., there are essentially two manufacturing sources:
- Austrian-manufactured CRBs (distributed in the U.S. by Carpet Cleaner America (CCA))
- Chinese-manufactured CRBs (often distributed/listed under names such as CRB Clean or CRB Cleaning Systems)
Model Line Comparison
To help clarify lineup differences:
-
Austrian-Manufactured Line (CCA Distribution):
TM3, TM4, TM5, Brush PRO 35 & Brush PRO 45
-
Chinese-Manufactured Line (CRB Clean Distribution):
TM3, TM4, TM5
Why this matters: The model name alone doesn’t identify the supply chain. TM3/TM4/TM5 exist in both lines — so confirming the distributor or country of manufacture is essential when comparing pricing and specifications.
Key point: Many retailers re-name (private-label) these machines for their brand. That makes identical machines look different across websites — even when they come from the same manufacturer.
Why TM3 / TM4 / TM5 can be confusing
You’ll frequently see TM3, TM4, and TM5 used as product titles across the internet. The issue is that these model numbers are sometimes used to describe both Austrian and Chinese-sourced machines depending on the website.
Bottom line: the model name in the headline isn’t always enough — you need to confirm the manufacturing source to compare apples-to-apples.
Common private-label names you may see online
Here are examples of names that are commonly used online for Austrian-manufactured CRBs (CCA-distributed). Different sellers may use different branding, but the underlying machine is the exact same Austrian unit:
- Hydro-Force
- Prospector
- BrushEncap
- BrushMaster
- TMF Pounder
- Brush Pro
- Brush Pro Hybrid
For Chinese-manufactured CRBs, you’ll often see naming such as:
- CRB Clean
- CRB Cleaning Systems
Note: Websites may mix branding terms with TM model numbers (TM3/TM4/TM5). That’s why we recommend verifying the source before assuming two listings are identical.
How we label machines on our site
- TM3 / TM4 / TM5 / PRO35 / PRO45 = Austrian-manufactured units (CCA-distributed)
- CRB Clean 12 / 15 / 20 = Chinese-manufactured units
We do this so the name acts like an ID tag — it tells you what you’re actually buying.
What this means for price comparisons
Because private-label branding is common, you will often see different prices for the exact same Austrian-manufactured machine depending on the seller and what’s included.
Plain-English takeaway: If two listings are both the Austrian (CCA-supplied) machine, you are looking at the same unit — even if the brand name is different — and sometimes you’re simply paying more for the exact same machine.
Our approach: We keep the labeling straightforward and price competitively so you can make a fair comparison with confidence.
