Before Smart Cleaning Solutions existed, we were running a carpet cleaning business ourselves. We know what it feels like to load equipment, manage a full schedule, deal with callbacks, fight recurring spots, and constantly look for ways to make each job more efficient and more profitable.

Like many cleaners, we started with the methods we knew — primarily hot water extraction — and assumed that was simply the way carpet cleaning had to be done. It worked, but it also came with challenges: long dry times, heavy equipment, wicking issues, scheduling limitations, and jobs that often took more time and effort than they should have.

That changed when we discovered encapsulation and low moisture cleaning systems. The difference was immediate. Carpets looked outstanding, dry times dropped dramatically, callbacks from wicking were greatly reduced, and we were able to complete jobs faster while creating a better experience for our customers.

We did not just test these methods on a few jobs and move on. We rebuilt our own cleaning operation around them. The impact was transformational — improving our efficiency, our customer satisfaction, and the overall profitability of the business.

After seeing what the right low moisture systems could do, James realized something important: many cleaning professionals had never been properly introduced to these methods. So in 2007, Smart Cleaning Solutions was founded with a simple purpose: to give independent cleaners, janitorial contractors, commercial cleaning companies, and new business owners access to the same kind of equipment, training, and practical guidance that had changed our own business.
