Now the first thing you are probably thinking is “I don’t know anything about wood flooring and I don’t want to get into some big messy refinishing projects.”  Well you don’t have to.  This is a simple two-step process, and there is no sanding, leveling, or detail work to do.  You are simply applying two different products to the floor.  More on that in a minute.

You may also be thinking "aren't there already a lot of other wood flooring people doing this?"  The answer is NO.  If you look in your phone book you will find plenty of places that sell and install all kinds of wood and laminate (Pergo type floors).  You will also find companies that refinish hard wood floors.  This type of work requires a lot of sanding, which is messy (many people have to leave the home while it is being done), and then new coats of either varnish or urethane finishes have to be applied.  What you should notice though is that there is no one offering treatments or restoration for Laminate, Cork, or Bamboo floors, and you should also notice that there is no one that refinishes real wood flooring without costly sanding.

You may wonder why that would be.  Well laminate (Pergo type floors), bamboo, and cork floors are a relatively new product in the flooring industry.  In the last 4 or 5 years these floors have exploded in sales with millions and millions of people putting them in their homes and businesses.  The reason for this growth is that they look so good and are so easy and cheap to install compared to real wood.

WHAT IS A LAMINATE FLOOR?

These types of floors cannot be sanded and refinished like real wood; the top coat is just too thin.  The retail stores have sold these products as 'maintenance free floors'.  Even though the aluminum oxide coating is 4 times harder than real wood, it is very thin and gets scratched and scuffed just like any floor surface that is walked on.  Plus just about everyone that has them complains about footprints being left on the floor when you walk on them in your bare or stocking feet.  Pets also leave footprints on them.  You can’t use strong chemicals to clean them for fear of damaging the oxide coating.  There is no way to keep them looking shiny.  Waxes, Mop & Glow, Quick Shine, and those types of coatings should never be used on laminate type floors.  Another problem is those types of flooring are very susceptible to water damage, and many people who bought them are not even aware of this.  Only a lightly damp mop should be used to clean them, and spills should be gotten up immediately.  Here is the kicker, up until now there has not been a product made exclusively for Laminate, Bamboo, and Cork floors.

THE SOLUTION:

Here is what happened, like has happened so many times before (necessity is the mother of invention):  The company that makes our product in Canada also sells laminate type floors.  They got so sick of their customers complaining about footprints and trying to keep their laminate floors looking good, plus the fact that when the floors got older and scuffed up there was no way to restore them, that they decided to stop selling laminate flooring.  However, laminate flooring was becoming more and more popular.  They started losing customers to their competition and they had no choice but to get back into selling it.  But what they decided was, if they were going to sell it they had to find a product and a way to treat these floors.  They needed a product that would add moisture resistance to the floor to avoid water damage on new and old floors.  A product that would add a protective coating that would take the abuse so the Aluminum Oxide coating was protected.  Something that would hide or eliminate scratches & scuff marks and put a long lasting beautiful shine on the floor.  Finally, they needed a product that made cleaning these floors simple and easy and didn’t show footprints every time a pet or someone walked across the floor.

The third product is sold to the home or business owner by you and is designed for them to safely and easily clean the floor when it gets dirty.  It leaves the floor looking as good as it did when it was first redone by you.  It eliminates the footprint problem and will not streak.  It also helps protect the finish product and longevity of the new finish.  We will explain how easy this is to do a little further on.
