THE CLEANING PROCESS

The cleaning steps are basically the same for all packages with some variation depending on which machines you are using. You can clean at the rate of about 800 to 1,000 square feet of carpet an hour in a home, and 2000 to 3000 square feet an hour in open areas like businesses. A 2000 square foot house would typically have about 800 to 1,000 square feet of carpet, so you could clean that house in about 1½ hours or so, including vacuuming.

Below we describe the cleaning process using the machines in package 1 and package 2. This will give you an idea of how easy the process is.
  • Vacuum the carpet, use your detail tool to edge along the walls, and use the brush attachment to clean any registers that are around the floor area or on the wall. (This will impress your customers and sets you apart from the rest of the cleaners. Most carpet cleaners do not vacuum, in fact most don’t even carry a vacuum with them).
  • Appy your cleaner to the carpet using the provided electric sprayer, applying it to one room at a time.
  • Lay your cleaning pad on the carpet and put the machine over the pad
  • Clean the carpet by running your machine over the carpet. As the pad gets dirty (after about 100 to 200 square feet) turn the pad over and continue. Do this like you are vacuuming. Push the machine forward and pull it back in the same area, move over overlapping slightly and repeat until done.
  • Go to the next room and start again.
  • After all rooms are cleaned, re-vacuum (or use the CRB machine) to pick up any dirt the machine has pulled to the top but didn’t pick up. This will lift the nap of the carpet while leaving a nice groomed appearance. Yes the carpet is dry enough to vacuum. If you have purchased the “Home and Commercial” package instead of re-vacuuming with a vacuum cleaner, use your CRB machine to vacuum and groom the carpet. This will add an additional cleaning and lift the pile straight up and groom the carpet at the same time. Nothing grooms a carpet like the CRB machine.
  • That’s it. Tell the customer to vacuum in the next day or so. The new cleaning chemistry will encapsulate any dirt, dust mites, mold spores or bacteria left in the carpet (there is always some dirt left no matter what method you use) even though they can’t see it. This will be easily removed by the vacuum.
  • After cleaning the carpet will repel dirt instead of attracting it, this means the carpet will stay clean much longer. That is the beauty of this new encapsulating cleaning chemistry.
  • Normally you will use about 3 to 5 pads for the average house. To clean the pads simply put them in your washing machine, no need to dry them, just take them out and put them in a pail until next time.
  • There are stain kit included in our package that will get out stains such as kool aid, wine, grease, urine, rust, and more.

Below is the process of cleaning a really dirty or greasy carpet using the Steamin Demon machine, CRB and the OP machine.
  • Vacuum the carpet, use your detail tool to edge along the walls, and use the brush attachment to clean any registers that are around the floor area or on the wall. (This will impress your customers and sets you apart from the rest of the cleaners. Most carpet cleaners do not vacuum; in fact most don’t even carry a vacuum with them).
  • Apply your cleaner to the carpet using the provided electric sprayer, applying it to one room at a time.
  • Pre-Scrub the carpet with the CRB, this will work the cleaner into the carpet and remove much of the soil.
  • Hook the Steamin Demon hose to a sink, washing machine hot water faucet, or any other faucet. Put the drain hose in the sink, toilet, washing machine drain or any other drain.
  • Clean the carpet using the Steamin Demon. This will flush the dirt out of the carpet and dump it down the drain.
  • If you want to speed up drying a little then use the OP machine and a dry pad and go over the carpet. This will remove more moisture and even some more dirt, however, this step is normally not done.
  • Go to the next room and start again.
  • After all rooms are cleaned use the CRB machine to post vacuum and groom the carpet. This will add an additional cleaning while lifting the nap of the carpet straight up allowing it to dry faster, and leave a nicely groomed appearance. Nothing grooms a carpet like the CRB machine.

As you can see this is a very easy process, and is actually fun to do. It is amazing to watch a very dirty carpet transform into a new looking carpet. Most people get a lot of satisfaction doing this. It is easy, fun, and you can make really good money doing it, even part time.
