These pads come in white, black, and red, other colors are available. Different colors denote aggressiveness of the pad. White pads are the least aggressive and the red pads are next. The black pads are the most aggressive. Normally in laminate and wood floor cleaning you would use either the white or red pads. The pads come in every size from 5 inch to 27 inch. Most common size for laminate, wood, and carpet is 13 inch, 17 inch and 19 inch.
